What Glyph does

A scanner that actually reads your writing.

Most scanners give you a photo. Glyph gives you the words, organized and searchable, without ever sending them anywhere.

Reads handwriting on device

Apple's recognition engine turns your script into clean text, right on your phone. It runs without a connection.

Fixes whiteboards and angles

Glare, skewed corners, and bad lighting get cleaned up automatically, so a quick phone photo reads like a flat page.

Every word is searchable

Type a phrase and jump straight to the note that contains it. Your whole archive becomes one searchable library.

Folders and tags

Group notes by class, project, or topic. Tag the ones that matter so the right set is always a tap away.

Export to text and Markdown

Send recognized notes into your essay, your reference manager, or your notes app as plain text or clean Markdown.

Private by default

No sign-up, no cloud upload, no tracking. Your notes live on your phone and stay there unless you choose to share them.

How it works

Three steps, a few seconds.

Step 01

Capture

Point your camera at a page or whiteboard. Glyph finds the edges, straightens the shot, and removes glare for you.

Step 02

Recognize

The handwriting is read on your device and turned into text you can select, copy, and search. No connection required.

Step 03

Find

Search across everything you have scanned and land on the exact note, with your matched words highlighted.

Privacy

Everything stays on your phone.

Glyph was built to work without an account and without the cloud. The recognition happens on your device using Apple's own framework, so your notes are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is nothing to breach and no profile to sell.

Questions

Good things to know.

Does it really work offline?
Yes. Recognition runs on your device, so scanning and reading your handwriting work with no connection at all. Search over your archive is local too.
Do I need an Apple Pencil or a stylus?
No. Glyph reads photos of real paper and whiteboards. If you can take a picture of it, Glyph can try to read it. A stylus is not required.
How accurate is handwriting recognition?
Neat printing reads very well. Messier cursive is harder, as it is for any tool. Glyph keeps the original image alongside the text, so you can always check a word against what you actually wrote.
Where are my notes stored?
On your phone. Glyph does not require an account and does not upload your notes. You stay in control of your own files, and you can export them whenever you want.
What will it cost?
Glyph will offer a short free trial, then a simple annual or monthly subscription. Final pricing appears in the App Store at launch, and you can cancel anytime.
